The kids practiced this dance in our basements for months and did an incredible job tonight at the school talent show...and with only one head wound as a result!

American Idol, Chris Sligh or Engineer, Dan Blance? You make the call.
While my mom likes to watch American Idol, it really isn't my style so I haven't paid much attention to it in the past. *BUT* this season, we've tried to watch (at least part of) each episode because of Chris Sligh.
Now understand, I really do like his voice and his style. He's not some cookie cutter/Ambercrombie and Fitch catalogue model/singer wannabe. He's got a wicked sense of humor and takes the p*ss out of Simon every opportunity he gets. I do like this guy. But, the biggest reason we're watching, and rooting for him.....
HE LOOKS EXACTLY LIKE DAN.
The morning after the first episode of the season, Dan had about a dozen people come up to him at work to tell him what a good job he did on American Idol. The dj for team trivia called him 'Chris Sligh' the entire night. Carpool Dan saw the image above of Chris Sligh and thought it was Dan. I was demo'ing 'iPhoto' to a group of graduate students using a bunch of my photos and one asked why I had so many pictures of 'the guy from American Idol'.
Let's hope he wins. Dan could have a second career as an American Idol impersonator!
Is This A Bad Sign?
...I think I may be spending too much time around Carpool Dan, based on the following conversation about Carpool Dan's ex's new boyfriend.
CarpoolDan: "I don't know much about him, but she said he's a nice guy. He's in a band and talks to dead people."
Me: "Oh no! Not a musician!! Never EVER date Musicians!!"
